Note
In 1991, the constitution vide the 69th amendment, made provisions to make Delhi a special Union Territory. It was declared that the former Union Territory of Delhi would be known as National Capital Territory. Jammu and Kashmir has two capitals – Jammu* for winter and Srinagar for summer. *Hyderabad will be the joint capital of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for 10 years, after which Amravati will be the capital of Andhra Pradesh. Uttarkhand has two capitals – Dehradun for winter and Gairsain for summer as on 8^th June 2020. Guwahati and Ahmedabad are not capital cities. Capital of Pakistan occupied Kashmir is Muzaffarabad**
